Close + Claude: One Chat to Run It All

Let’s be honest, no one likes CRM busywork. Nobody chooses to get into sales because they love clicking around dashboards and updating dropdowns. That’s why we built the Close + Claude integration: to eliminate the dozen-click workflows that consume your time and momentum.

Claude isn’t just a chatbot that gives you answers. It’s a working interface with your CRM. Meaning you can pull data, update records, create leads — all via Claude prompts. It’s not hard to set up, you don’t need any fancy APIs or deep technical knowledge — it’s easy-peasy and no BS.

What We Built

With the arrival of Close's MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, Claude can access your Close account to tackle virtually any ops task you can dream up:

  • Retrieve CRM data (leads, activities, opportunities, org details) with simple text prompts.
  • Update records in real-time, like changing opportunity confidence or editing templates.
  • Create new leads instantly from data surfaced by Claude’s web search.
  • Combine Close with other MCP-enabled tools to power multi-source, AI-driven workflows.

Put simply: Claude isn’t just another overlay. It becomes a working interface for your CRM, allowing you to find answers and take action within the same conversation.

Why We Built It

For founder-led teams or admins managing larger sales orgs, the biggest burden isn’t always taking the sales call; it’s the dozens of CRM-related tasks that pile up every week. Every time you need to pull data, generate a custom report, or clean up records across multiple tools, you lose time and momentum.

Old way: To create something like a call outcome report, you’d have to find raw disposition data, pull it via API, export to CSV, upload it into a chatbot, identify each column, and hope it parsed correctly. Ten steps, lots of friction.

New way: With Close’s MCP server, all of that context and tooling is pre-configured. In a single natural language prompt, Claude can fetch, interpret, and visualize your CRM data instantly.

What used to take 10 steps now takes 1.

‎This integration exists because we believe sales tools should seamlessly integrate into the workflow. Claude is already a trusted conversational partner for many teams, and adding direct CRM access means operators and founders can go from research to execution without breaking their workflow.

What It Means for Close Customers

With Close + Claude, your CRM ops work becomes dramatically simpler:

  • Save time: No more juggling tabs, copying data from Close, and pasting it into Claude. Insights and updates now happen in the same conversation.
  • Generate custom reports instantly: Ask for pipeline health, win-rate analysis, or activity breakdowns — and get it back in seconds.
  • Research and capture leads: Combine Claude’s web search with Close’s database to instantly create and enrich new opportunities.
  • Act faster on insights: See a new opportunity? Update the CRM record mid-conversation.
  • Stay in control: Granular permissioning means you decide what Claude can and can’t do in your Close account.

In other words, where reps get value from AI built into Close (note-taking, pipeline suggestions, email rewrites), ops leaders and founders now get a different layer of AI leverage, automation of the tedious, multi-step CRM workflows that were too complex before.

Why This Matters Now

Work has shifted. Increasingly, we spend as much time in chat interfaces like Claude and ChatGPT as we do in CRMs, docs, or email. But until now, getting CRM data into those chatbots meant endless copy-paste or API gymnastics.

Close + Claude changes that. It collapses the distance between your conversational AI and your CRM, making Claude not just smart, but actionable.

Where other CRMs layer AI on top, Close is building AI into the flow of how sales operations get work done.
