Close started as a “Sales-as-a-Service” vision in 2012. We wanted to empower companies around the world to scale their sales efforts. We opened an office, hired top sales talent, and started helping our customers scale rapidly.
We needed a sales-first CRM, but our search led to disappointment. Other CRMs seemed to be focused on turning sales professionals into data entry specialists. They didn’t meet the real needs of a salesperson in an intuitive, efficient way.
We decided to fix the problem.
We developed our own internal sales application. Using it, our salespeople generated millions in revenue for hundreds of venture-backed Silicon Valley startups using our secret sales sauce: Close.
Word spread about our winning combo of tech and sales philosophy. In January 2013, we knew it was time to release Close to the world.
